The KOA16P is a high-performance, low-noise EDFA optical fibre amplifier designed for high-density FTTP and FTTx PON deployments. The unit provides 16 individual 1550nm optical output ports, each delivering 15.5dBm, with a total optical output power of 30dBm.

The KOA16P incorporates a built-in low-noise pre-amplifier and operates across the 1540–1563nm optical amplification bandwidth. High-performance CWDM technology is integrated into each output port, allowing the amplified 1550nm signal to be multiplexed with 1310/1490nm PON data over a single fibre. This helps optimise fibre utilisation while simplifying network deployment.

Compatible with EPON, GPON and other FTTx PON technologies, the KOA16P provides carrier-level reliability together with SNMP network management. Its dual power supply with 1+1 backup further enhances system availability and reliability.
